Bryn Mawr Addition and Refinished Stucco on Home

This stucco home in the Bryn-Mawr neighborhood of Minneapolis had a large three car garage, family room, and kitchen addition planned for the rear of the home.  The homeowners initially contacted us for the installation of new stucco on the addition, but the project blossomed into the refinishing of the stucco on the entire home.  We needed to repair the stucco where the addition tied into the existing home, as well as areas along the rooflines after the proper flashing was installed, and a few areas where windows were eliminated or replaced. The new stucco on the addition and the stucco on the existing home was finished using a knock-down dash texture, in a warm gray color.  The new stucco on this home created a beautiful, long-lasting new finish on this classic Minneapolis tudor-style home.  ...

Lake Calhoun Stucco Home

The stucco on this home in the east Calhoun neighborhood of Minneapolis was in pretty rough shape before the project was started.  The homeowner also wanted new windows, and there were a few alterations to the front entryway.  The first step in the process was to sandblast the existing stucco, in order to remove the paint that was coating the stucco.  We then removed a few large areas of stucco, where it was bulging and severely cracked. We allowed the contractor a few weeks to install the new windows, and to do the other desired work on the exterior of the home.  This additional work included new areas of trim, the removal of a frieze board, some new doors, new insulation, and the new entryway.  Once the contractor was finished, we installed galvanized metal lath and applied the base coats to the stucco areas that needed to be repaired.  We allowed the base coats to cure, and then we returned to apply a new two-coat finish using a knockdown-dash texture.  The old, dilapidated stucco was transformed to create a beautiful new exterior on this great home in a fabulous Minneapolis neighborhood!...

North Minneapolis Stucco Project

This home in north Minneapolis was purchased by a nonprofit organization, with the intent on rehabilitating the home in order to sell it to a good family.  On the exterior of the home, the stucco had been painted so it was necessary to sandblast the existing stucco in order to remove the paint.  We also needed to repair the stucco on several areas of the home, including the areas around the new windows, areas where brick was removed, and areas where the existing stucco was missing. Once the stucco had been sandblasted and repaired, the home was ready for the new stucco finish coat.  The general contractor wanted a specific color that was used, and the finish coat’s texture was a trowel texture.  The old, deteriorated stucco on this north Minneapolis home was transformed so much that the home now looks brand new.  The new homeowners will enjoy this beautiful stucco for many years!    ...
