South Minneapolis Stucco and Trim Project

The owner of this stucco duplex in the Kingfield neighborhood of Minneapolis contacted us for a complete exterior renovation.  Her existing stucco had previously been painted, and the paint was peeling everywhere.  There were also several areas that needed to be repaired, including the stucco on the chimney, areas on the garage, and some large cracks on the north side of the home.  She was also having her windows replaced through a Metropolitan Airports Commission program, so she wanted to have her door and window trim, along with the soffit and fascia, wrapped with aluminum. First, we sandblasted the existing stucco in order to remove all of the paint.  We completed the necessary repairs, and we textured the stucco patches to match the existing texture on the home in order to seamlessly blend the new patches into the old stucco.  The new windows were then installed, and we matched the color of the aluminum to the color of the cladding on the new windows.  We then wrapped all  of the trim on the home and garage in aluminum, providing the homeowner with beautiful new trim that won’t require painting. Once the trim was completed, we were able to apply the new stucco finish.  We applied a new two-coat stucco finish using a color that enhanced the new trim, and also coordinated with the stone details on the home.  The new stucco, combined with the new trim, gives this south Minneapolis duplex a beautiful new exterior that is virtually maintenance free.  This stucco duplex was transformed from one of the oldest-looking homes in the neighborhood to the nicest house on the block!...
